Marie Curie, 2 L10
Environmental Catalysis Engineering Group (ECEG) belongs to Institute of Catalysis and Petroleum Chemistry (ICP) (CSIC), is located in Madrid (Spain), and it has been centred, over the last ten years, on the development of catalysts for cleaner environments.
Nowadays, the research lines are: 1) thin film coated photocatalytic concrete and 2) wastewater treatments. Always focused on the development of new materials and process parameters optimization to improve catalytic efficiency.

Thin film photocatalytic coated concrete
What we offer:
Easy application of TiO2 nanoparticles sol as a thin film over cured concrete showed an increased degradation of dyes when compared with uncoated concrete. The materials have been evaluated in the degradation of other pollutants gasses.
The effect of thin films over the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of concrete has been studied.
A new technology has been developed in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin using thin layer with double performance: curing and photocatalytic properties.
The application of a film with thickness in the nanometer range reduces the cost of these materials.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for research partners or associates to apply for european or national Calls, and companies interested in the development, study and/or characterization of new developed or commercialized photocatalytic cement.
